Pederson’s Natural Farms announces acquisition of Nature’s Rancher and the Introduction of New Product to the Nature’s Rancher Line-Up.
Hamilton, TX., August 11, 2017(GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Pederson’s Natural Farms is pleased to announce the acquisition of Nature’s Rancher as a new addition to the Pederson’s Natural Farms portfolio.
“By folding the Nature’s Rancher brand into our operations, we are better positioned to take advantage of our long-term strategic growth goals, which includes an increasingly integrated business model and multi protein product mix,” said Neil Dudley, Vice President of Operations, Pederson’s Natural Farms.
Nature’s Rancher is a Whole Foods Market exclusive brand in the natural meats category. As a growing number of consumers choose natural products, this purchase provides Pederson’s and the Nature’s Rancher brand a faster path to expanded offerings in this high-growth category.
Nature’s Rancher recently launched a new product, Fully Cooked Snack Bacon, now available in all Whole Foods Market locations. This new offering packs the goodness of bacon, fully cooked and accessible to be eaten right out of the package.
Many consumers today are looking for a quick snack, and Nature’s Rancher Fully Cooked Snack Bacon is a savory and smart choice with an ingredient list that is simple and clean. Nature’s Rancher Fully Cooked Snack Bacon is made with premium-quality pork from pigs that have been raised humanely, vegetarian fed, and with no antibiotics. It is free of artificial ingredients, preservatives, nitrates/nitrites, gluten, MSG, and lactose.
To support the launch, fully cooked snack bacon will be promoted on the Nature’s Rancher website and social media channels including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
In September, Nature’s Rancher will roll out a fresh new look.

I was in Houston yesterday and bought some “Natures Rancher Fully Cooked Bacon”. It was amazing and now im addicted BUT they dont sell it in Louisiana . Is there any other way that i can get it?
Hi Shelly,
We are so glad you like our NR Fully Cooked Snack bacon. This is a Whole Foods exclusive product available in all Whole Foods nationwide. If you aren’t finding at your local Whole Foods, be sure to ask the store manager.
Our local whole foods said the snack bacon is no longer on their order form for their region— our kids go through two boxes a month at minimum—- trying to locate where I can get the snack bacon
Hi Lorie. Unfortunately, the snack bacon is being discontinued in the Nature’s Rancher label. Moving forward, it will only be available for purchase at The Simple Grocer under the Pederson’s Natural Farms label. However, this is the exact same bacon. You can find it HERE. Feel free to use coupon code SAVINGS10 to get 10% off your first purchase. I hope that helps. Have a great week!
We would like to order a case of the individual bacon packs. Whole foods doesnt have it. Will it go on Amazon? Can I order it from the company?
Hi Joanne. Whole Foods does not carry the snack bacon any longer. You can visit the website thesimplegrocer.com and order the snack bacon from there. Feel free to use the coupon code SAVINGS10 to get 10% off your first purchase. I hope this helps. Have a great weekend.
I have bought your Sirloin Strip Steak at my local Whole Foods in Bellingham, MA many times and it is excellent. I was there the other day and they said they haven’t received any in a while. Is this because of the recent acquisition and when will you start supplying Whole Foods again?
Hi Paul,
Thank you for being a loyal customer! We are working hard to increase our Sirloin Strip Steak supply and get back into your local WholeFoods soon. We apologize of the inconvenience.
One of my favorite Nature’s Rancher products was Theo’s Marinade. This was only carried by Whole Foods and now they no longer carry this. Is Pederson’s planning on bring Theo’s Marinade back to the market?
Hi Scott,
We appreciate and value your feedback! You are correct, this was a Whole Foods exclusive item that is no longer being carried by stores therefore has been discontinued.
Love you fully cooked bacon. Is it available to order online?
Thank you for being a great customer! Nature’s Rancher is a Wholefoods exclusive product and is not currently being offered online, but hopefully soon. We will be sure to let you know as soon as it is.
Have all the NR marinades been discontinued? ☹️ They were great!
Thank you for being a loyal customer! Unfortunately the marinades are not currently being carried, but if they are picked back up, we will be sure to let you know.
Please bring back the Nature’s Rancher Theo’s Steakhouse cooking and grilling sauce. Best product on in the line. Wish I would have purchased more before they were discontinued.
Hi Karen, Thank you for your interested in Theo’s Steakhouse cooking and grilling sauce! We are currently working on some opportunities to be able to offer it again. I will keep you posted as soon as it is available again and where you can find it. Thanks again for supporting our products!
Any developments with the marinades? Absolutely loved the jerk marinade and would love to be able to purchase again!
Hi Tish,
The marinades where exclusive to Whole Foods and they have discontinued the marinades. I hope this helps. Have a great week!
Will the Nature’s Rancher Uncured Beef Hot Dogs be back on the market?
If yes, will it be the EXACT SAME PRODUCT or are you changing it up?
Our Uncurred Beef Hot Dogs should be available and the exact same product. Are you having trouble locating in your Whole Foods?
We just tried the Nature’s Rancher uncured all beef hot dogs the other night and they were, to coin a very popular MA phrase, “Wicked” good!! We have been in search of a great tasting, mild yet satisfying “cleaner and healthier” hot dog and have been sadly disappointed with other brands, even organic brands. They were all either too spicy, too tough or they tasted more like a smoked sausage rather than having a distinctly “hot doggy” enough flavor if that makes sense! Buy them! Try them! You won’t be disappointed
I’ld like to buy some, but my store has been out for a month? MARK NADING
They should be available. Which Whole Foods do you shop? I would be glad to check with them!
Is your buffalo corn-fed at any point?
Hi Kathy,
Our Bison are born on grass/pasture without much assistance from humans – they don’t need much help. Our bison feed on their own for most of their lives – they eat grasses and whatever is available to them as they roam. Our bison are grain-finished for the last 90-150 days. This is a ration of about 50-60% grain and 40-50% grass or alfalfa hay.
You state you grain finish your bison the last 90-150 days with a ration of about 50-60% grain and 40-50% grass or alfalfa hay. Is that the same for your beef? Is your grain and alfalfa hay GMO free?
Hi Darren, thank you for your question! Can you tell me which beef product you are referencing? We do have grassfed beef, so I want to make sure I am giving you the right information depending on which product.
Love your quail..best ever!!!
THIS PRODUCT IS NOT AVAILABLE IN THE SOUTH BAY. This product was available in one Whole Foods in the South Bay/Peninsula area for about a day. That one location was the Campbell store. I placed a special order with them for a box in October. I stopped by a couple nights ago. The customer service desk has no idea if they will ever have this again. They haven’t seen it in store in weeks. The Cupertino and Palo Alto stores have never had this item. YOUR WEBSITE IS WRONG. The vast majority of customer service staff in the Whole Foods Markets in the Bay Area have no idea what I’m talking about when I inquire about the pocket sized Nature’s Rancher Fully Cooked and Ready To Eat Bacon. PLEASE DISTRIBUTE THIS SOME OTHER WAY ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BUY AND EAT IT. Whole Foods is unable to cope.
They should be available at all Whole Foods locations. Which Whole Foods do you shop? I would be glad to check on availability in your area!
The Whole Foods in Wellesley MA carried the double strips of cooked bacon until the box ran out and now the customer service people think that since Amazon took over (ruined) WF, many products including yours will probably not be carried anymore. Can you please check? Thank you.
Hi Doug,
Thanks for reaching out. We are so glad you like our products! All Nature’s Rancher products are still being carried by Whole Foods. Your individual store may have decided not to re-order when they ran out. We really appreciate you letting the store manager know that you like our products. Hopefully it prompts them to place their re-orders. I will also pass your feedback on to our sales team so that they can reach out as well!
Yes the Whole Foods in University Place , WA also doesnt carry the fully cooked bacon and according to the staff, never have. I got mine in Kakaa’ko, HI Whole Foods. Can I order this online directly?
Hi Linda, we are so sorry you are having trouble locating our product. Pederson’s Farms is our parent company, and they also have a great fully cooked bacon. Visit pedersonsfarms.com to find a location near year. You can also visit thesimplegrocer.com for options to purchase online.
We appreciate your feedback Ed and so glad you are enjoying our quail!
Is your lamb and beef 100% grass fed or is it grain-finished?
Hi Elizabeth,
Our lamb is 100% grass fed.
Just purchased your steakhouse smoked uncured bacon, best I’ve ever tasted, I’m definitely going to be a repeat customer. Is there a telephone # you can be reached at?
Thank you,
Denise
Hi Denise,
Thanks so much for your positive feedback! We sure are fond of it, as well. You can reach me at cindy@naturesrancher.com. Have a great day!
Hi. We have been getting our Pederson’s bacon as a small co-op here in Albuquerque, NM. Will this change in the business affect that availability? To be honest, we are not happy with the Whole Foods in our area overall, therefore would love to be able to continue to get your products at La Montanita Co-op. It’s a great little store. thank you so much!
Hi Cynthia, thank you for being such a loyal Pederson’s customer! You should still be able to find your favorite Pederson’s products at your co-op. The only thing that is changing is our brand name within Whole Foods. Please let me know if you have any trouble finding!
What is the brand name going to be at Whole Foods now? I will be sure to look out for it!
Thanks
You will find our products under the Nature’s Rancher brand within Whole Foods.
Hello, I usually purchase Pederson’s Farm sugar free bacon with the Whole30 approved stamped. My local Whole Foods no longer carries it. Is the Nature’s Ranchers bacon the same product? Are there any differences? I was somewhat disappointed to learn they were no longer carrying it.
Hi Maria, Thank you for being a loyal Pederson’s Farm consumer! Yes, Nature’s Rancher is the same product you have come to enjoy under the Pederson’s brand, just exclusive to Whole Foods. It has also been Whole30 approved. We hope you continue to enjoy our Pederson’s and Nature’s Rancher products. Let us know if you have any additional questions, comments or concerns.
Hello, I usually purchase Pederson’s Farm sugar free bacon with the Whole30 approved stamped. My local Whole Foods no longer carries it. Is the Nature’s Ranchers bacon the same product? Are there any differences? I was somewhat disappointed to learn they were no longer carrying it. thank you
Hi Marie, thank you so much for being a loyal Pederson’s customer! I want to assure you that the products under the Nature’s Rancher brand are the same as those you find under the Pederson’s Natural Farms brand, bringing you the same great taste and quality you have come to expect and enjoy.
Hello my zip code is 32746 and we have checked three nearby Whole Foods that no longer carry Nature’s Rancher steaks we are interested in Ribeyes and New York steaks can you tell me if I can buy them online?
Thank you Marilyn for your feedback Marilyn! I apologize for the inconvenience. There has been a slight shortage, but you should now be able to find them in the freezer set of all Whole Foods.
Hi. I liked the pocket sized Nature’s Rancher Fully Cooked and Ready To Eat Bacon, which I found at local Whole Foods the other day. However, I was told today that this product was discontinued. Is it true?
Thank you for your feedback. It is still available in Whole Foods. Which store do you shop? I would be glad to look into for you.
I bought a single pack of the new snack bacon when I was at Whole Foods a few days ago, just to try it out. Most jerky and other snack meat products seem to be loaded up with extra ingredients, including sweeteners. And sometimes I like bacon as a snack at home but it’s not easy to leave in my bag for when I’m out and get hungry. Anyway, suffice to say, I’m now officially hooked. It was delicious. The perfect size too. I’m about to go back to Whole Foods to get more. I hope it sells well so that you keep producing it!
Thank you for the feedback! We’re so glad you like our snack bacon!
Hi. I recently purchased a package of your Angus beef burgers. I was wondering, what does vegetarian fed mean? Is that the same as grass fed? And are they finished with grain as in the case of some of the other products?
Hi Eileen, thank you for your question. Vegetarian fed means there are no animal by products in the feed. The beef in this particular product is raised on grass but grain finished.
Hi there, we’re so glad to see your bacon in a Whole Foods Market. Can you tell me what type of salt (sea salt?) is in your Hickory Smoked Uncured Bacon?
Hi Jake, thank you for your question. We use a 99.7% pure evaporated salt; it is not iodized salt. Table Salt (regular salt) is iodized.
Is the ground beef at Whole Foods packaged and labeled “Nature’s Rancher” organic AND 100% grass fed beef?
Yes, our grass fed beef is Organic.
Purchased a pack today while in the check out line at Whole Foods. I’ve been on Weight Watchers for 5 weeks now and craving bacon. So happy that this pack only equals ONE WW Free Style point! Can’t wait until I can purchase in bulk, on line. I’m spreading the word to all of my WW friends and groups on Facebook! Thank you for this tasty, guilt free product!
Thank you for the great feedback and spreading the word about our products!
Hi, I hear your Nature’s Rancher Grassfed beef is Imported, how does this fit into the Know where your food comes from ethics that Wholefoods was known for?
Hi Wade, thank you for your question. The supply chain for our beef is fully audited by Wholefoods as part of their GAP program. Our beef ranks as a level 4 which is very good. As for their origin, they are raised in Tasmania.
Let me know if you have any additional questions. I would be glad to answer them for you.
Is your bison meat fed any grain?
Our Bison are born on grass/pasture without much assistance from humans – they don’t need much help. They feed on their own for most of their lives – they eat grasses and whatever is available to them as they roam. Our bison are grain-finished for the last 90-150 days. This is a ration of about 50-60% grain and 40-50% grass or alfalfa hay.
Hello- can you please tell me ig your packaged bison has any chance of cross contamination to any form of dairy, wheat, nuts, eggs?
Thanks!
Hi Lisa, I would like to assure you that all appropriate steps have been taken to assure that there is no cross contamination of any dairy, wheat, buts or eggs.
Hi there, was wondering if your 100% grass fed ground beef is 100% grass-FINISHED as well or if they are fed grain at any point. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi Alyse,
Yes our grass fed ground beef is 100% grass-finished.
Whole Foods no longer sells your marinades. Nothing prohibits your company from marketing the marinades through another store. Please excuse my frankness. These sauces were frequent ingredients in my recipes. Best wishes for your other products.
Thank you for your interest in our marinades! Since Nature’s Rancher is a Whole Foods exclusive brand, when they stopped carrying it, it was discontinued. We are currently working on some opportunities to offer it under a different brand name. I will let you know as soon as I have more details, but it is looking like Fall/Winter 2018. Thanks again for supporting our products!
I have been buying the bacon every week at Whole Foods since January of this year. I was not able to find it last week or this week, so I asked an employee at the meat counter. He informed me that they weren’t selling it anymore. why? If it’s only available at Whole Foods, why would they stop selling it? I literally buy 12-24 packages a week. This is very sad news to my family.
Thank you for being such a loyal customer. I am so sorry about your experience. Our bacon is still available in Whole Foods, they may just not have placed their re-order. If you will provide me with the store location, I would be glad to reach out to see if we can help them with their re-order.
Do you sale organic kielbasa?
If so, can you speak with the store on the Bowery in New York City about stocking the product?
Thank you.
Hi Droena, our Kielbasa is classified in the Natural category.
Is your bison born and raised in the United States?
Yes, they are raised in the United States.
Is your Uncured Hickory Smoked bacon pigs fed with any corn? What is included in the vegetables-only diet they are fed?
Hi John, Thank you for your question. The answer is yes, it their diets may include corn.
I asked this question before but never got a response. Are your cut turkey wings and legs cross contaminated with your pork? Please respond and thank you!
So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. No, our turkey and pork are not processed in the plant.
Hello I have food allergies and need to know the ingredients in the cooked frozen turkey meatballs and all the meatballs please. Thank you!
Also the nutrition facts.
Yes, they do contain sage in their spice blend.
Just got back from our Whole Foods Market in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was told by the butcher that they were no longer carrying your all beef hotdogs. What’s up? Is this store-wide or just this particular store? This was the market at 91st and Yale.
Hi Gary. Unfortunately, the hot dogs have been discontinued by Whole Foods on a corporate level. The best thing you can do is continue to make the request for them, and perhaps they will change their minds. I hope that helps. Have a great week.
My local Whole Foods (Portland Maine) has been out of stock on Natures Rancher hot dogs for weeks. Today I asked a person in the meat department who told me the product has been discontinued corporately at Whole Foods. Please tell me this isn’t so – these are the best tasting hot dogs on the market EVER!
Hi Nancy. Unfortunately, this is true. The best thing you can do is continue to request them, and perhaps they will change their mind. Have a great week!
This is terrible news as this is the only meat product my child will eat. Will they return?
Hi Steph. We agree! We sure hope that Whole Foods will decide to carry them again. I will keep you posted if we have any luck!
Since Whole Foods doesn’t carry them, which other Food stores carry them?
Which product are you looking for? Maybe we can help you find what you are looking for!
I have been trying to find the “Natures Rancher Fully Cooked Bacon” for months. I bought it in Whole Foods a couple of times and now it appears that it has been discontinued, according to the butcher and store manager. Is there somewhere else that I can purchase it from?
Hi, my wife has ulcerative colitis and IBS. In an attempt to avoid surgery her doctor has put her on a grain free diet. I read your response to an earlier comment where you state your Bison are grain finished. Is your organic beef and the free range lamb grain finished or given grain in any part of their time on pasture from birth to processing?
I would really like to get your products at are our local Whole Foods but I need a confirmation the animals are given 0 grains or my wife’s conditions could worsen and require extensive invasive surgery. Thanks for your help!
Hi Gordon,
Our organic ground beef is 100% grass fed and finished no grains. The free range lamb is also grass or clover fed and no grains. Hope this helps answer your question. Have a great week.
None of the Whole Foods I have gone to in the Boston area still carry your little 2-piece fully cooked no sugar added bacon. Are you considering making the product available some other way, such as from another store or your web site?
Hi Doug,
Unfortunately Whole Foods has discontinued this product. We do however have this available on our website thesimplegrocer.com. Here is a coupon code SAVINGS10 you can use this for your first order and get 10% off your entire order. I hope this helps answer you question. Have a great week!
hi ! I love your bacon snack packs, is it ONLY sold at The Simple Grocer? you must buy a minimum of 8 items to make a purchase from them. I was hoping to order a case of the snack packs without having to buy 7 other items. thanks
Hi there,
Unfortunately yes our snack pack bacon is only available at our online store the simple grocer. Have a good day.
